Bio
Luke Warm and the Cold Ones are a Rock band based out of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. As such, their music is reflective of the Northern experience of living in a small Canadian town, where the snow and cold aren’t the only things that tarnish the spirit. The band consists of Luke Warm (Lead Vocals/Bass), Hillary McDowell (Piano/Vocals) Kyle Oikonen (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Carlo DeAgazio (Lead Guitar), and A.J. Haapa (Drums/Percussion). The variety of influences the five members bring to the band creates a sound that is both familiar yet original. The sound encapsulated by the band is far-reaching, with everything from Punk to Folk, Metal to Classic Rock, Hip-Hop, and a variety of other musical tastes that seamlessly blend into a refreshingly new sound. Much of their music focuses on the more painful side of the human condition, but in a nuanced and fun way that gets people moving, dancing, and having a great time.
The lead singer (Greg Chomut) has collaborated with Canadian acts like July Talk, Broken Social Scene and Neon Dreams to facilitate songwriting workshops for Indigenous youth Prior to the pandemic, Luke Warm and the Cold Ones took the stage with Canadian heavyweights like Metric, July Talk, Coleman Hell, Wolf Saga, Nick Ferrio, and Ansley Simpson at the inaugural Wake the Giant Music Festival in Thunder Bay.
Since then, the band has come out with four releases, including the hit single “Running Scared” back in 2019, as well as three new singles this past summer titled “Kip City”, “Devils Working Late”, and Paradise Lost”, which have received international attention; including reviews and other articles in Canada, Australia, the UK, and in the USA. These latest singles have also caught traction on a number of notable Spotify playlists, particularly the Exclaim! EH list.
